Biography

Paloma Cupello is a practitioner and project manager with nearly 10 years of experience working within international organizations. She is currently a graduate student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Bologna, Italy.

Her research focuses on the growing relations between the Middle East and Latin America, with particular emphasis on Brazil, as well as Qatar and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. She is also interested in South-South cooperation, international security, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and their implications for governance and state capacity.

Additionally, her work explores the history and contemporary dynamics of the Gulf region, as well as its relations with the European Union, particularly in areas such as security and defense cooperation, including military coordination in the context of increasing geopolitical competition.
