The Global Institute for Strategic Research (GISR) is an independent think tank, dedicated to analyzing and interpreting geopolitical and geoeconomic trends through an Arab perspective. Established under the auspices of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), GISR focuses on examining the complex dynamics between the Arab region and both established and emerging global powers in the geopolitical space

GISR’s primary aim is to provide nuanced insights and actionable recommendations for policymakers by combining rigorous research with a deep understanding of Arab cultural and political contexts. GISR also strives to enrich global strategic discourse with regionally informed perspectives, particularly addressing the interconnected global challenges of governance, advancement (encompassing progress, prosperity and development) and peace.
