
Professor Aiman Erbad

Biography
Dr. Aiman Erbad is Associate Professor and Division Head at the Information and Computing Technology Division at the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia, a Master of Computer Science in Embedded Systems and Robotics from the University of Essex, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle.
Dr. Erbad received the 2020 Best Research Paper Award from Computer Communications, the International Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC) 2019 Best Paper Award, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) CCWC 2017 Best Paper Award. He is an editor for KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems, the International Journal of Sensor Networks (IJSNet), and the IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Erbad previously served as a program committee member and organizer at numerous international IEEE and ACM conferences. His research interests span cloud and edge intelligence, distributed intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), private and secure networks, Blockchains, and multimedia systems. He advises government entities and works with global organizations on issues of higher education. Dr. Erbad is also a senior member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and IEEE.
